The Prescott-Russell Basketball Club is proud to launch our Jr. Ref program for the 2026-27 season. Applicants will be put through on court and virtual training sessions, teaching them the skills they need to officiate U10 and U12 programs with the Rockets.
This program has a free registration process, and will be overseen by a carded member of the Ottawa Valley Board of Approved Basketball Officials (OVBABO). Participants will receive a Jr. Ref shirt, and whistle as part of their onboarding.
Interested parties must be at least 14 years old in order to qualify for this program. If you have not yet met the age requirements for this program, but want to be involved in PRBC programming this season, please contact us today to learn about alternative options.
This program is open to residents of the greater Prescott-Russell community, as well as currently registered PRBC players. While previous playing experience would be considered an asset, it is not a requirement in order to be eligible for this program.
Uniform
Jr. Officials will receive a whistle and Jr. Ref shirt for the 2026-27 season.
Commitment
Game assignments will work around Jr. Ref availability.
Experience
Previous playing experience is not mandatory to apply.
Apply to become a Jr. Official today. Applicants who successfully complete the on court, and virtual training process will begin to be assigned U12 or younger games at the recreational level. These assignments are paid roles, allowing Jr. Officials to earn valuable on court experience, while also developing their off court resumes as well.
